Role Overview

This person will work as part of our Claims and Benefits Team to source, analyze, and update  the Accolade tools that enable Health Assists to assist members with Medical, BH, Rx, Dental and Vision benefit, claims, and eligibility questions.   A strong emphasis is placed on this incumbent’s deep benefit expertise, analytic acumen, technical proficiency, as well as their demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and service-oriented.  Success is defined by having benefit content, process guidance, and employer resource data that can be quickly found and understood by our Health Assistants.  This is a critical role in a growing company, suited to someone who is willing to learn and grow as our business scales.

A Day in the Life

  • Own claims and benefits set-up and maintenance for a set of Customers:
    • Build content for new Customer implementation:
      • Leverage sourced Customer and Health Plan documentation to draft content structure design
      • Translate Summary Plan Descriptiondocuments into benefits content, consistent with Accolade tools and content style guide
      • Identify gaps in sourced content; work with Customer/Health Plan to close/clarify gaps
      • Conduct QA of benefit content in Accolade tools
    • Maintain/adjust benefit content, based upon Customer/Health Plan changes and requests for clarification from Health Assistants
      • Translate Summary Plan Description/ OE documents into benefit content, consistent with Accolade tools and content style guide
      • Identify gaps in sourced content; work with Customer/Health Plan to close/clarify gaps
      • Conduct QA of significant benefit content changes
    • Provide first-line benefits/claims expertise for Health Assistants and Claims/Benefits Specialists
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
    • Identify opportunities for content/process improvements
    • Participate in improvement initiatives
    • Implement process/content improvement initiatives within owned content
  • Manage work
    • Workload management:
      • Understand key deadlines; drive work to meet deadlines
      • Escalate workload/deadline issues as needed
    • Individual growth:
      • Work with leader to understand skill gaps and develop a plan to close gaps
      • Self-manage components of growth plan, as agreed-upon with leader
    • Team growth
      • Support onboarding of new team members, as necessary
