Role Overview

The Content Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing content that appeals to a business audience in the health and benefits arena, and to consumers with access to the Accolade solution. The Content Marketing Manager should be an experienced content creator and strategist, skilled at developing content strategy from creative conception to execution across a range of channels and content types – web, social, print, video, audio, infographics. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills.

 

This individual will work within the Corporate Marketing team and in a highly collaborative fashion with the Director of Content, Member Engagement Marketing Managers, internal and outside design teams, demand generation and sales and marketing leaders. Content marketing efforts are designed around two distinct audiences: 1) Corporate Audience – Enterprise and mid-sized employers (specifically HR, finance and executive leaders), benefits consultants, third party administrators, health plans, healthcare influencers, partners and other audiences, and 2) Accolade Members – Employees and their families covered by their employer’s health insurance program, of which Accolade is a crucial service. The goal with both audiences is to expand Accolade’s awareness, subscribers, and appeal to drive further relationships and engagement with the company.

A Day in the Life

  • Develop, manage and implement B2B and B2C content marketing strategies that drive engagement, traffic, leads, and contributes to sales, customer retention and consumer engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and manage thought leadership content pieces that can be used across sales and marketing channels – including case studies, research summaries, blog posts, video testimonials audio clips, member and customer quotes and case studies, infographics and more.
  • Present a brand publisher mindset toward creating multiple assets/resources each month of interest to our specific audiences.
  • Create and edit video content that includes testimonials, executive insights, and short videos created from content within our current library.
  • Support team with content syndication strategies, including content distribution in various formats and across multiple channels to best reach our target audiences.
  • Develop and implement strategy in conjunction with our data science team that pulls insights from our data platform on a monthly basis for storytelling and shows the power of our platform and team.
  • Apply and manage measurement/reporting process to show content effectiveness in reaching the right people, meeting engagement goals, understanding how to refine strategies further to increase results.
  • Manage projects with multiple stakeholders while communicating plans, progress and results.
  • Expand and manage our content development center to ensure content is organized and easy to access to support sales and the buying process, and members engagement for campaigns and programs.
  • Develop and maintain editorial calendar and organization workflows.
  • Develop of editorial governance so content is consistent with Accolade brand voice, style and tone.
  • Develop executive presentations on content marketing program and results and present in quarterly reviews and other meetings across the organization.

 

What we are looking for…

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business/Marketing/Publishing/Communications, Design or technology-related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on content marketing or related business initiatives and campaigns in a business environment.
  • Strong writer, familiar with website, marketing, blog and internal communications and writing styles and requirements; experience creating content for the web, email, social media and print.
  • Editorial mindset that understands and seeks to further that understanding around what audiences consume and how to create desirable content.
  • Experience in best practices of online media channel messaging, measurement tools, and the strategy and approaches that work on each, and why – WordPress, Hootsuite, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, SlideShare, Display and Pay-per-click Advertising, SurveyMonkey, Google Analytics.
  • Ability to analyze and present content that ties to sales performance.
  • Strong project management skills, strict attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience influencing senior leadership through presentation of creative ideas based on data and insights.
  • Ability to think creatively against deadlines with acute attention to detail and multiple cross-functional processes.
  • Experience working with high-performing teams and against tight deadlines, supporting the needs of and communicating regularly with multiple stakeholders.
  • Desired qualifications:
    • Video production and editing, graphic design and html skills experience a plus.
    • Experience in social media strategy and execution.
    • Experience using a content management system like Wordpress.
    • Familiarity with project management/ticketing systems and processes like Jira.
    • Able to provide clear and easy-to-understand creative direction to creative partners.
    • Experience working in a healthcare environment and/or marketing agency experience.
