Role Overview

The Desktop Engineering team resolves complex issues which helps keep end users productive in their roles.  We work with users based in Accolade offices and remotely.  We support Windows and Mac devices, as well as virtual devices.  We assess new technologies and configurations that will enhance the end user experience. These include small but impactful settings, new versions of major tools, and design and implementation of systems to manage our hardware and software environment.  Our products enable the business.  We strive to provide a service that users know is a scalable, reliable platform for their tasks.

A Day in the Life

Key Projects, Deliverables & Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and resolution of escalated support requests
  • Automation and delivery of software installs and group policy settings
  • Configuration and delivery of new computers to end users
  • Maintenance and delivery of Zoom collaboration tools and spaces
  • Assist in migration to Windows 10


Key Knowledge, Skills, or Qualities:

  • Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, or related major

  • Familiarity with Windows and MacOS operating systems
  • Scripting and/or programming background
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts (protocols, addressing, connection types)
  • Basic project management/time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, delivering quality results and communicating properly
  • Experience working directly with customers
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment that weighs 20 pounds or more
